Beijing struck me as a city of dualities. Wherever I went, wherever I looked, I was confronted by contrasts: modern versus traditional, rich versus poor, clean versus dirty, noisy versus peaceful, nature versus manmade. The construction of modern tower blocks in the city is ongoing and ever-present, but the parks are an oasis of peace and tranquility. They are very well maintained and appreciated by the Beijingers, who don't have their own gardens. This print celebrates the existence of nature in an urban environment, in places like Beijing - or in any capital city!
