Elbow grease and imagination
There are no digital processes involved whatsoever in creating my limited edition prints; each one is hand-inked individually. For that reason, my edition sizes are small. On average I will pull only fifteen prints from each plate. Collagraphy is a lesser-known, but incredibly flexible type of printmaking. Wonderful, textural prints can be produced using simple, everyday materials you might find in your kitchen cupboard. I trained as a linguist until the creative streak finally took over, but my passion for foreign language and culture is still alive and filters into my printmaking. In April 2017 I went on a two-week Chinese tea sourcing odyssey with a local Dorset teahouse owner. My most recent hand-inked prints are inspired by the tea gardens and teaware I saw on my travels.

A Massive thank you Genny for sharing your knowledge and skills. The day flew by, but you paced it well, allowing me to explore and investigate a variety of techniques. Your intuitive manner allowed me to take charge of my own ideas and imagination which is brilliant. I left inspired to do further work based on the prints. I hope to spend another day with you in the near future.

Thanks for looking after us so well and making it such a fabulous day - I absolutely had a creative ball and it'll take a while to process all the new things I learned.

I was the happy recipient of a gift voucher for a 2-day course on collagraphs. This was excellent: very helpful and thoughtful tuition that built on my own ideas, and then showed me how to get them on to paper. The first day was spent creating the plates, and the second day a week later printing from them. Very good working studio too. I happily recommend this to anyone - and I will hope to go back myself for another enjoyable session. And you might even get a tea ceremony!

Keep looking at my six prints spread out on spare bed to dry. Am very pleased with what we did in just two days. Thanks again.

Our aim was to introduce my daughter to printmaking as part of the gold level Arts Award (Trinity) she is working towards. Genny had taken a lot of trouble to research the syllabus, and was keen to help her to access the skills required for both the actual process and the award itself. She also took care to teach us, very successfully, in a way that was appropriate for my daughter, who has a severe speech and language disorder. By the end of both sessions we had both managed to make seven prints, and it was brilliant to see the progression of skills so vividly displayed. Everyone who has seen the work has been amazed! We both had a lovely time, and gained pleasure and a sense of pride in our work.

Genny the workshop was so inspiring- I was bouncing off the wall with excitement! I was absolutely delighted with my amazing achievements. A huge thank you.

I really enjoyed the workshop. It's the best art thing I've been to since I left AIB (in 2001!)

Just wanted to say how inspiring Tues was, I absolutely loved it. You are such a giving teacher and that in itself is wonderful!
